Assignment 4: Applying lighting techniques

I have chosen to photograph a handmade vase which has a beautiful texture with iron coloured spots which are unique to each piece, and only become evident after the firing of the piece. I thought the colour and textures of the vase was really lovely, and would be a challenge to photograph to show the different features.

I found this assignment to be quite challenging. It was difficult to make the vase look different but still interesting in each photo, and to try to bring out a different feature of it in each photo. I took a lot of photos in order to get the desired effect, and still feel I have a lot to learn about using artificial and other kinds of light in photography.
